Short answer: it is a look decision, not a privacy one. Vertical boards read traditional and timeless; horizontal boards read cleaner and more modern. Both are solid tongue-and-groove with no gaps, so both screen your yard the very same way, and the only real difference is the line you want people to see.

The Classic Vertical Look, in Any of 14 Colors

The vertical line is orderly and formal: even boards standing straight up, a clean solid face from post to post. Ask someone to picture a privacy fence and this is usually what they draw. It does not have to be plain white, though.

The upright board line carries the full palette, all 14 colors in three families, from standard solids to smooth woodgrains to textured TimberGrain tones. So you can keep the classic shape and still land on a warm cedar grain, a soft gray, or a crisp solid. Vinyl holds that color and never yellows in the sun. The swatches are just below.

How We Build and Install Your Vertical Fence

As a licensed local shop, we fabricate the Prescott vertical panel to your exact height, width, and color, then install it along your run, with matching gates built in the same upright style. Because it is cut and assembled for your yard, an odd corner, a slope, or a run that meets an existing fence gets handled in the build.

Everything general about a solid privacy fence carries across every style we build: how we reinforce the panel for wind, how tall you can legally build and when a permit applies, the sequence we follow from marked utilities to the final haul-away, and what moves the cost. Want the modern, low line instead? That is the horizontal-style privacy fence. A decorative picket or lattice crown on top? Those are the privacy-and-picket and lattice-top builds. A body in one color with the frame in another? That is two-tone.

Past the Solid Screen

A solid vinyl screen is the common answer, not the only one. We work in aluminum as well, and the openings that break a run get built to the same fit as the panels on either side of them.
